Kildare to feature in An Post Ras again

The An Post Rás, Ireland’s best known bicycle race will pass through Kildare once again, writes Conor McHugh.
The last two stages, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 25 and 26 will use Naas as an overnight stopping point.
The Saturday stage will start in Carlow before heading into Wicklow, via Arklow. From there, it will head up the Glenmalure valley into Laragh and up the Wicklow Gap into Blessington.
From there it will come across through Ballymore Eustace into Naas.
On Sunday morning, the race will start in Newbridge and head out via Milltown over the Hill of Allen and out via Kilmeague, Prosperous and Kilcock before entering Meath and ending eventually in Santry.
It’s the 61st edition of the race featuring over 1,180 kilometres of cycling and no less than 33 categorised climbs.
